Blacklist Checks

50+ industry blacklists on every domain — before deliverability bites.

Blacklist aggregation runs on top of every Domain Health snapshot. Hit count + per-listing detail surface alongside SPF / DKIM / DMARC posture so deliverability problems show up before they hit your production sending volume.

What you get

Built around what tenants actually need to ship deliverability.

50+ industry blacklists

One check covers the major sender, domain, and URI blacklists — dozens of lists in total. Each listing surfaces with its name + URL so you can open the delisting page in one click.

Per-domain hit count

Every checked domain gets a "0 hits / 50 checked" tile on its Domain Health page. Drill into the per-listing detail to see exactly which blacklists flagged you and where to go to dispute.

Built into Domain Health

No separate endpoint — results land on the matching /v1/domain-health/:domain snapshot. The Analytics page has a dedicated Blacklists tab for tenants who want to slice across the whole fleet.

How it works

13 DNSBLs on every Domain Health snapshot

Follow acme.co through the blacklist pass — a parallel sweep of every zone, hits folded onto the health row, and a webhook the instant a clean domain gets listed.

Rides on Domain Health

A blacklist check never runs alone — it’s a best-effort pass inside every fresh Domain Health snapshot. So the hit count lands right next to SPF / DKIM / DMARC posture, sharing the same 24-hour cache. No separate endpoint, no second console screen.

02 · The lists

13 lists, IPs and domains

We query a curated set of 13 DNSBLs — 12 IP-based lists (Spamhaus ZEN, Barracuda, SpamCop, SORBS, CBL, UCEPROTECT and more) plus Spamhaus’s domain block list. A domain resolves to its A record for the IP lists; the DBL is queried on the domain itself.

03 · Query

All zones at once

The IP is reversed and queried against every zone in parallel — each racing a 4-second timeout, so total wall time stays under ~5s even if half the lists stall. A refusal code from a public resolver reads as “couldn’t check,” never a false listing.

04 · Aggregate

Count the hits, stamp the row

Reputation-tier listings are counted (network/ASN lists excluded), capped at 20, and each keeps its name + URL. The count stamps blacklistHits straight onto the Domain Health row. If every list is inconclusive, a paid provider fallback fills in.

05 · Edge alert

Only on the clean→listed edge

When a domain with zero prior hits first shows ≥1, domain.blacklisted fires — once, on the transition, idempotent across repeat re-checks. Your on-call hears the moment a clean domain gets listed, before it hurts sending reputation.

Where the listing shows up

A “N hits / M checked” tile sits on the domain page and as a sub-pill on the record badge. Drill in for each listing’s name and delisting URL; the Analytics tab ranks which lists are most aggressive across your fleet.

FAQ

Quick answers.

How are blacklist checks priced?+

Each check consumes the credit weight shown in the Pricing section above, drawn from your monthly wallet. Pro plans bundle enough monthly credits to cover typical fleet volumes; if you audit a big batch and run out, a credit pack tops up the wallet without changing your subscription.

Why is it bundled with Domain Health?+

Blacklist checks query the same domain rows DH does and share its 24h TTL cache — the hit count is stamped straight onto the DH snapshot so SPF / DKIM / DMARC posture surfaces next to the listing state on every record. Splitting them would mean two console screens and two analytics tabs for what's really one question: 'is this domain in a state to send?'

How do I delist?+

We surface each listing's URL — click through to the blacklist's own delisting form. We don't auto-delist (most blacklists require human operator review and don't expose an API). What we DO give you is a domain.blacklisted webhook that fires the moment a clean domain transitions to listed, so your on-call system knows to act before the listing hits your sending reputation.
